Press Release Author: Eric Canja, ProVision Development Group
Industry: Small Business
Press Release Summary: The award that Russ Ewell received only touches the surface of what vision he has. His work is an obvious passion that is contagious and inspirational.
Press Release Body: January 18, 2008- Las Vegas, Nevada When Eric Canja heard about Russ Ewell receiving the Jefferson Award, he wasn\'t surprised.
\"When I first heard Russ speak in early 1991, I knew he was a man that knew what he wanted and how he was going to get it.\" Eric recalls.
Russ and his family moved from Washington D.C. to help the San Francisco Church of Christ (now known as the Bay Area Christian Church) grow.
\"Why would he want to move here?\" was Eric\'s comment when he heard that Russ would be moving to San Mateo County. An area just south of San Francisco.
At that time, that particular area wasn\'t known to be a very good location for a church leader to live. There wasn\'t anything there other than a \"weak\" fellowship.
However, Russ could see what it could become. Silicon Valley was quickly becoming the technology capital of the world. With members already in such esteemed companies, it was only a matter of time that they capture the vision Russ had as their own.
Over time, there were many specialized ministries created. Eric recalls when the E-Soccer program began. Initially, it was simply to integrated special needs children (atypical is what they like to be refered to) with typical children.
The program took off because of the passion Russ had and how he inspired those that volunteered to invest their hearts.
It is amazing to know that one man\'s vision can truly make a difference to so many people.
\"One of the reasons I continue to dream the impossible is because of men like Russ\" states Eric.
Eric Canja started his company as a vending machine operator to meet the needs of his family. He has always had the entreprenuer\'s spirit.
Eric recalls a time when one of his roommates told him that Russ mentioned him during a meeting.
\"What, was he talking about who not to be like\" Eric laughingly recalls. \"I wasn\'t the most secure twenty-something\"
\"No! He was talking about how you inspired him with an idea you had emailed him about\" his roommate retorted.
Eric had sent his idea in response to a vision Russ had shared during one of his passionately taught sermons.
Eric has made it his life\'s ambition to imitate his former ministers enthusiasm, passion and vision. That is part of the reason he took the risk and ventured into the world of business ownership.
\"Our congratulations to him and all that he has accomplished!\" states Eric.
